James Thomson is a cinematographer and director who has been making skate films for over 20 years. Shooting on a mix of 16mm film and digital, his work spans skateboarding, music, fashion, narrative and commercial projects.

James spent several years working in New York City as a cinematographer and director for world renowned creative agencies, developing and directing films for brands including Louis Vuitton, The NBA, Crayola, Converse, New Balance, Thuma Co, The Department of Education, Lysol Pro Solutions, Neighbourhood Watch Victoria and Felons Brewing Co.

He is currently based in Melbourne, and has camera packages for 16mm film and digital.
