Louis Vuitton x NBA

About: A celebration of ’90s basketball mania, this 16mm brand film was created for the launch of Louis Vuitton x NBA’s latest clothing line. Shot on location in Harlem, New York, James served as DOP, bringing a raw, energetic visual style to the campaign. The film was one of the final creative campaigns led by legendary creative director Virgil Abloh before his untimely passing.
Neighbourhood Watch

About: To mark Neighbourhood Watch Victoria’s first major campaign in 20 years, James directed the lead TVC for their Safety in Neighbours campaign. Shot across neon-lit suburban streets with a playful visual language, the film transforms the everyday act of locking up into a collective neighbourhood ritual — bringing to life the idea that safer communities start with everyone doing their part.
The campaign ran across television and digital, with stills from the production also used for a series of billboards across Melbourne.
Felons Brewing Co.

About: To lead their creative campaign, The Good Life, James directed and shot a four-part 16mm film series for Felons Brewing Co.
Leading with the campaign hero film, the series celebrates the people, culture and creative spirit of Brisbane. Each film follows a day in the life of a different local creative — chefs Oscar Solomon and Louis Tikaram, legendary street artist Sofles, and Full Flower Moon Band frontwoman Kate Dillon — capturing their work, passions and the city they call home as they enjoy and ice cold Felons beer.
Shot entirely on 16mm, the series takes an intimate, observational approach to portraiture, blending documentary filmmaking with the warmth and texture of motion picture film.
Crayola x Native Shoes

About: : James directed the hero film for Native Shoes and Crayola’s What If We Created campaign. Built around the idea that creativity can spark positive change, the campaign brought together Brooklyn-based artist and educator Mason Eve with kids, families and couples to turn their ideas for a better world into a series of large-scale murals.
The resulting film captured the creative process and became the lead campaign creative asset across Native Shoes and Crayola’s owned and social channels, as well as retailer partners. The campaign encouraged young people across the US and Canada to submit their own ideas for positive change, under the #whatifwecreated with the winning ideas brought to life through original artwork.
Lysol Pro Solutions

About: A post-pandemic world ushered in a new era of hybrid working and hot-desking, increasing the number of shared surfaces office workers came into contact with. As a result, employers needed to think differently about germ protection. To help businesses protect their staff, Reckitt’s Lysol Pro Solutions revealed the top 10 germiest hotspots in an office.
James directed the lead campaign film, bringing the research to life through a visual exploration of the everyday surfaces and objects where germs can accumulate in the modern workplace.
Ground Glass

About: James is the creator and director of Jenkem Magazine’s Ground Glass series, a 16mm skate film series exploring the craft, culture and exceptional technical skill of contemporary skateboarding.
Working alongside some of skateboarding’s biggest and most respected professionals, James has shot six episodes entirely on 16mm, with a seventh currently in production. The series combines traditional skate filmmaking with the distinctive texture and visual language of 16mm film, documenting a generation of professional skaters on one of the most demanding formats in cinema.

About: James directed a brand film for the US launch of The Week Junior, a magazine created for curious kids who want to learn more about the world. Covering everything from current events and science to sport, nature and culture, the publication encourages young readers to explore, learn and develop their own point of view.
Filmed on location in Los Angeles, the film captures the curiosity, imagination and energy of a new generation of young readers, bringing the spirit of The Week Junior to life through a playful and vibrant visual approach.
